About

What do we do?

Creston Valley SAR members are volunteer professionals, dedicated to serving their community and the lost person. Training regularly to be able to respond 24/7 when needed, they fill a wide variety of roles. The challenging and demanding job of Searcher is supported by the equally important radio operators, drivers, food and facility staff, command staff and more. All training is provided, and there are opportunities for anyone willing to put in effort and function as part of a positive-focused team. There truly is no feeling like when you are part of bringing the lost person home.

Our Region

Creston Valley Search & Rescue serves the entire Creston Valley region, from Yahk in the east to Riondel in the west, covering the communities and wilderness areas throughout this diverse corridor. Our volunteers respond to emergencies across this expansive territory, including the surrounding mountains, waterways, and backcountry areas that make our valley a destination for outdoor recreation.
